Yosemite

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Thick white icing on roofs with plump gingerbread people. Dark chocolate trees and gum drop lawns. Yum and yum and yum some more.

In the valley, grey-orange-black edifices of rock slouch over trying to hug you and reach thousands of feet tall kissing the sky. Nothing captures the depth and breadth of the range or the scent of gravel with pine needles or the warmth that runs to your bones despite the 37 degree temperature. But you hope and hope and hope some more that you can with the next picture capture this. Because this scenery, this ultimate bliss, this oasis in a world of anxiety, is perfect and everything. And you wish so much for a photo, a token, to escape to when the madness all begins again.

The holidays with their sweet disposition bring similar feelings. And thus what could beat Thanksgiving in Yosemite.
